Pacific Coast Parent-Child Consulting
First and foremost, I am not a perfect parent. Half of the time I'm not even a good parent; however, I try my very best and between my personal and professional experiences I want to help other families in any way I can. I am the mother of three beautiful children, including a special needs child. Professionally, I have worked in the field of child development for most of my adult working life. I obtained my masters degree in Psychology-Marriage & Family Therapy in 2010, and I am currently a doctoral student nearing graduation for a PhD in Infant and Early Childhood Development- Mental Health & Developmental Disorders. My professionnal experience includes work as a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern with preschoolers in an outdoor school program, adolecents with mental health needs, and teaching psychoeducation to high risk teens on the topics of pregnancy, parenting, newborn care, attachment, and heatlhy relationships. Additionally, I have worked with children ages 0-3 as a Child Development Specialist in an Early Intervention program, and as an ABA Behavior Therapist for ages 3+.
While I specialize in working with families with children ages 0-5, I am happy to support families parenting children of any age. I'm passionate about helping parents understand typical vs atypical development, providing education on ways to promote attachment and bonding in the parent-child relationship, helping parents feel supported in their parenting paths, and sharing evidence-based interventions that will encourage parents to feel confident in their abilities. I also truly enjoy supporting expecting families as their doula or professional birth coach.
No one should have to parent alone! Professional support is available, and I am more than happy to help you sift through all of the unique challenges of parenthood.

What is Consulting?
Consulting for the parent-child relationship includes a professional who has training and experience in the fields of child development, parenting, and family relationships. The consultant uses their knowledge to provide support, education, research, resources, and guidance to parents who have questions or feel they need assistance obtaining information and generating problem-solving strategies for a variety of topics. You may find you have one particular stressor or you may have many different topics you would like to discuss. Consulting is constructed to support each individual/family in a way that makes sense for you.
Consulting for other professionals functions on a similar level; however, the consultant uses their knowledge, education, and skills to help guide others in their professional journey; working alongside them to development career plans, offer suggestions for curriculum development, and acting as a sounding board for the professional client to share their personal goals and find pathways to accomplish them.
Please Note: A Consultant is not a therapist or a counselor and will not provide mental health, medical, or diagnostic services. They can; however, give you referrals to providers in your area who are qualified to offer those services should the need arise.
How Does it Work?
At Pacific Coast Parent-Child Consulting I provide a free consultation via email or 15 minute phone call to discuss your primary topic of concern and if my services could be beneficial to you. If you decide to schedule a consulting appointment you will be asked to send an email prior to our meeting with a list of topics you would like to cover. This allows me to prepare for our meeting and be ready to discuss the information and have resources/referrals availabe to share with you. You are encouraged to book as few or as many sessions as you feel you need, over any time period that works for your family. All appointments are conducted via video conferencing, telephone call, or text/email for those that need a little more flexibility with responding. If you reside within the Santa Ynez Valley we can schedule an in-person meeting in your home or a community location of your choice, if you prefer. Children are always welcome at appointments; as I understand that childcare can be one of the many stressors families face. I am also available for group presentations on specific topics/age groups, tofacilitate parent support groups, and to present at conferences.
I am here to support you, not judge you!
